Valid’s work in Ethiopia has included:
- Operational research for the community based approach for management of acute malnutrition. Ethiopia, Sudan and Malawi were the 3 first operational research countries.
- Various projects that have supported setup, implementation, review and evaluation of CTC/CMAM programmes across the country. This includes projects that have specifically supported a community mobilization strategy for a CTC/CMAM programme.
- Implementation of various surveys to assess the coverage of CMAM interventions using the CSAS, SQUEAC and SLEAC approach
- Delivery of a Focused Ethnographic Studies (FES) STUDY (FEEDING INFANTS AND YOUNG CHILDREN)
- Design and delivery of the impact evaluation (baseline and endline) for USAID’s flagship nutrition programme in country (2011-1016): Empowering New Generations to Improve Nutrition and Economic opportunities (ENGINE)
- Support for Community based nutrition management and support of acutely malnourished Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) & Pregnant and Lactating Women (PLW) infected and affected by HIV’ programme
- Assessment of factors affecting household nutrition security, health seeking behaviour and water & sanitation practices
